The Palmer Ranch area covers over 10,000 acres and was original purchased in 1910 by the late Bertha Honore Palmer, a wealthy socialite business woman from Chicago.  Mrs. Palmer used the area for orange groves and cattle farming.  Today only a few heads of cattle remain in some still left farming pastures.  This farming area has now become what they call a master planned community of 30 different neighborhoods and communities.
